The Male Gaze

Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke

Video

Throughout this video there are several scenes associated with sex and intimacy

This appears in the first 20 seconds of the video, this shows that the video has explicit content as the first sign of sexual content appears in the first 20 seconds. The woman featured in this video appears to be wearing no clothing, with a facial expression showing sexual content. The fact that the words on screen at this point in the video reveals a sexual innuendo shows that women are being used, regarding intimacy throughout the video.

This scene appears in the first minute of the music video, this is still early in the video. The woman in the video is seen bent over, this is regarding the sex position. This shows that the women in the video are being used to attract men. Also, the fact that she is wearing revealing clothing reveals the sexual side of the video.

This scene shows the male dominance in the video. The fact that she is stood against him makes it seem like she belongs to him showing the dominance of the male. She is also wearing nothing but a thong, this shows the sexual innuendo's throughout the video. She is seen as appealing to the male sex as she is nearly naked which would attract all men towards the video.

This part of the video shows a woman pushed up against the male. Her head is tilted back and her chin is tilted which again leads us back to the connotations of pleasure, sex and orgasms. The way she is also pushed up against him gives connotations that she belongs to him expressing the male dominance.

This scene shows the female naked and pushed up against him. The fact the female has her full naked body showing shows why the video is appealing to the male sex. The expressions on the males face suggests he is excited at the fact she is naked, this is another scene regarding sexual and intimacy throughout the music video.

5X5

TV Shows
Family Guy- I love everything about family guy. My favourite characters in family are Brian and Stewie and I like the episodes when it mainly features them such as "Road to Rhode Island" as they interact very well.

American Dad- I was expecting this to just be a family guy clone with different character, This is more than that, its hilarious. The characters and humour are on the same sort of level as family guy but Seth McFarlane managed to work his magic and create a whole new different level of humour and wit for this show which sets itself apart from family guy.

Geordie Shore- There's no doubt Geordie Shore is a horrible show, but the characters are hilarious (perhaps a lot of the time not on purpose) it is pretty addictive.

Bad Education- If you haven't watched this then give any of the episodes a go. It is just pure entertainment, there is not supposed to be a point to any of it other than to make you laugh, (which it repeatedly succeeds in doing).

Peter Kay's Car Share- The writing and acting is in turns funny, witty, and poignant. The first episode will have you laughing out loud and as the series progresses you will build an affinity with the characters that makes them endearing.
